Construction is officially underway at the former FUSIAN sushi spot at 79 S. State St. in Uptown Westerville, as beloved Columbus bakery and coffee shop Fox in the Snow prepares to open its fifth location later this summer or early fall.
The expansion comes after years of requests from Westerville residents eager to have the café’s signature baked goods and sandwiches—like the acclaimed souffléd egg sandwich, recognized by Food & Wine as one of the best breakfasts in the U.S.—available in their neighborhood.
Founded a decade ago by Lauren Culley and Jeff Excell, Fox in the Snow has earned a dedicated local following since opening its first café in Italian Village. It has since grown to include locations in Dublin, German Village, and New Albany, each with interior designs and offerings tailored to reflect their respective communities.
“We couldn’t be more excited to be joining the community in Uptown,” said Culley. “As we’ve grown, we’ve always looked for locations where we can integrate ourselves into the routine and daily lives of those who live there.”
The Westerville Uptown Review Board approved the renovations, which include removing old awnings and installing the brand’s signature oversized signage. The Westerville café is expected to feature unique design elements exclusive to this new location.
“We’ve been hoping to come to Westerville for several years and think we found the perfect space in the State Street location,” Culley added. “We can’t wait to share what we do with another incredible area of Columbus!”
